Always My Baby

addison thanksgiving afternoon

the lastest with addison grace:

girls (what kyle and i call addison) has been walking around the last two days saying "yummy tummy!" (meaning yummy in my tummy) while she rubs her belly. we are still working on her eating better, but she has improved a lot.

the girl is very sweet and lovey dovey too, and not just lately. she always runs to me squealing "mommy!" and grabs me in a bear hug. i LOVE when she hugs me and does her little dance while shutting her eyes with a smile and saying "mmmm". those hugs are my favorite. i could hold my baby forever!

i love that she has the squishiest buns ever and she lets me squish them all i want. she's a pal when daddy is gone and misses him just as much as i do. we often call him together just to talk. addy LOVES shoes. she can often be found wearing mommy's or daddy's shoes over her own or on her bare feet. it's so cute to see her in nothing but underwear and shoes! she tries to get herself dressed from the clean laundry and always get frustrated when she gets stuck.

for a while now, she has had a love affair with blankets and anything that resembles one, including rugs. i love to watch her cuddle under a blanket with her bum in the air. lately she has become very picky while going to sleep, making sure her blanket is perfectly covering her shoulders and back. her favorite games are with daddy under our covers - teasing him and running away laughing.

she loves to hide in small, tight places. when maeli and cameron where here last week the played in forts made of pillow cushions and addison couldn't have been happier. other places like this are under our legs while we stand, behind doors, and under tables. her favorite game is "nah nah nah nah nah!" which she says with a hand on either side of her face. then whomever she is playing with chases her around while she laughs her head off.

lately, a stuffed minnie - almost her size - has become her best friend. she carries minnie around with her and asks to see her first thing when she wakes up and last when she goes to sleep. she loves for kyle or i to hold minnie and make minnie talk to her. kyle is great at this and has a special high -pitched voice he uses for the doll. addison loves it and totally ignores kyle and i when talking to "mimmie" as she calls the doll.

i love it when her sweet hand takes my finger and shows me what she wants, which is often the tv. poor thing is very upset when i tell her the tv won't be coming on that day. we had a ward and stake rodeo in november. of course the only thing addison wanted to do was stay in the animal petting area all night. she has no fear when it comes to animals. i love that she's not terrified of dogs.

addison has a big heart and is always concerned about others. if we watch a movie where someone is crying, she will turn to kyle or i and ask "happy?" her cute eyebrows will move up and she'll put her hands in the air asking 'why'. if someone is teasing her by fake -crying, she will do this and then give the sad person a hug. once they stop crying, she laughs and screams "happy!"

i love addison so much. i worry when this baby comes that addy will not get all the attention she needs from kyle and i. growing up, each time i got a new baby sister, i would devote all my attention to them. that would've been fine if i had realized each time what it did to the sister that had previously been the baby. the girl who used to have all the attention was then left to herself. looking back i feel terrible about this and i don't want it to happen to addison. this is all i've been able to think about these last few weeks as this new baby's arrival gets closer. hopefully i'll figure it out fast because any day now i'm going to have TWO babies to love!
